How do I confirm that I am mobilised and my name is on the NYSC portal?
Answer: To confirm that your name is on the NYSC portal click on the url  Nysc Senate list  https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc4/VerifySenateLists.aspx then enter your institution, matric no, surname and date of birth.

What is Green card exactly?
Answer: Green card is a document that contains your call up number, personal details & contact and next of keen details & contact, educational details and kits specification. Your call up no is the no NYSC gives to every PCM as they register and this no is limited. Those that don’t get their green card early usually fall into next batch or stream for camp. Should be printed in coloured. Do well to make duplicate copies as well (black and white).

Am I going to pay for the green card?
Answer: Yes. A sum of #2780 will be paid through Internet banking using Mastercard only on the NYSC portal. Within 24-48hrs your green card should be ready for download with your call up number on it. It’s advisable to pay for it immediately after registration. Please note that you should sign this document before taking it to camp and make enough duplicate copies.

What are the necessary things needed for NYSC registration?
Answer:
🔸Jamb reg no and matric no
🔸Valid phone no and email
🔸A white background passport (not more 15kb)
🔸Necessary info like personal details, blood group and genotype, two next of Kin details, primary, secondary and tertiary institution details (institution, duration and award), Nigerian languages you speak, states visited, and kit details.

How many state of choice can I choose during registration?
Answer: 4 states from any of the geopolitical zones below. But you’ll be deployed to serve in just one out of the four states you choose.

South East-5 States =(Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo).

South South-6 States=(Akwa-ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Rivers).

South West-6 States=(Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo).

North East-6 States=(Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe).

North West- 7 States=(Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara).

North Central-6 States=(Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Niger, Plateau).

NOTE: feasibility study shows that there shall be 7 geopolitical zones, which Lagos shall be referred as one, but Abuja shall be North Central.

Note that you can’t pick your state of origin and the state of your tertiary institution.

What are my chances of picking Lagos or Abuja
Answer: Very slim. Lagos and Abuja will most probably be removed few minutes after the registration begins to reduce the traffic of people trying to register at the same time because it’s the state of choice of many. It’s advised you find another way around it if you’ll like to serve in Lagos or Abuja so you don’t get disappointed.

What is Call up letter?
Answer: This is a document that shows the state you’ve been deployed to serve, your state code, camp address and the necessary documents you need to bring to camp. You don’t pay for call up letter, it will be available for download at the NYSC portal 1 or 2 weeks after registration closes. Should be printed in coloured. Do well to make duplicate copies as well (black and white).

Where can I do my NYSC Registration?
Answer: Any IT Centre or Cyber cafe with the NYSC required biometric capturing machine and expertise can register you.

What are the necessary items needed for camp
Answer

  1. Very Important Ones
    a. Statement of Result
    b. School ID card
    c. Passport photographs (10 copies, white background, Surplus is better than inadequacy)
    d. Call-Up Letter (Do Not laminate it please)
    e. Medical Certificate of Fitness indicating your health status
    e. A Clear Bag file (To house the above items)
    f. BVN code for account opening.
     
    NB: Get 5 photocopies each of items A,B,D and E above and also go with their Original copies also.
  2. Important Ones (For your Convenience)
    a. Stationeries; pen, Stapler, pin, gum, permanent marker (these will save you the stress of ‘borrow-me’ please)
    b. Two or three white T-shirts and shorts (You will be given two sets but you may not like the quality and size)
    c. Two or three pairs of socks and white rubber tennis shoes (for rainy days)
    d. Plastic bucket (You can buy it in the camp but it will be more expensive)
    e. Toiletries Essentials-(Toothbrush & Toothpaste, Bath soap & Sponge, Detergent, Toilet Paper, Towel,  slippers, detol).
    f. Bed sheet, pillow case, wrapper, one or two pairs of casual wear for Sundays and burn fire night, Cardigan (not compulsory)
    g. Mosquito Net (not compulsory)
    h. Handkerchiefs (very important especially for those that sweat)
    i. Waist bag (very very important for housing your phones,
    ID Cards, Handkerchief, biros, etc)
    j. Small-sized Torchlight/Rechargeable lamp (small one please) and Sunglasses (If you are posted to the North)
    k. Your ATM card(s)
    l. food flask, cup, spoon, water bottle for water during parade.
    m. Basic drug like Panadol, Paracetamol, malaria drug,flagyl, pain relief drug and/other basis drugs.
    n. Padlocks and key
    o. Ladies could add any other few conveniences. I believe you understand me.
    p. Money! Money! Money! Hold good cash please 15k to 20k depending on how you spend.
    q. Some few cloths. Note that you can’t take your laptop, pressing iron, pots, cooker/stove and the likes to camp, they will be seized at the gate.

How many weeks is camp?
Answer: 3 weeks. And you won’t be allowed out of camp except for emergency reasons.

Would we be fed in camp?
Answer: Yes, you’ll be fed morning, afternoon and evening for the 3 weeks camp. But every of the meal might not be your desired meal. But then there is Mami market in camp where you can buy whatever food you desire with your money.

Will I be exempted from NYSC due to my age?
Answer: If you’re 30yrs and above an exemption letter will be issued you from NYSC few months after registration.

If I am married, will I be posted to my spouse state of residence?
Answer: Yes. NYSC will post you to your spouse state of residence but the following documents must be provided during registration; *marriage certificate, evidence of change of name,spouse employment letter, PHCN bill.Somethings you need to know as you prepare for NYSC
